1) Bled, Slovenia
Summary: A resort town in Slovenia that’s under an hour from the country’s capital of Ljubljana.
Great Nature Spots to Visit: The standout feature is the breathtaking Lake Bled with Bled Island as its centre point. There’s lots to see, including secluded swimming spots, hiking trails, and Bled Castle. There’s also Mala Osojnica – a hiking destination that boasts the best aerial views of the island. If you’re looking for an alternative to hiking, you can rent a rowing boat, or go stand-up paddleboarding.

Summary: A beautiful northern island in Japan that’s known for its scenery, skiing, and volcanoes. Its capital is Sapporo – and to give you an idea of size, Hokkaido is roughly 37 times larger than Tokyo.

3) Sao Miguel Island, The Azores

A popular spot for hiking fans is the twin crater lakes of Sete Cidades, and if you want to see a place that feels other worldly – go to Furnas, which has hot springs, geysers, and fumaroles.
4) Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada
Summary: Canada’s oldest National Park – Banff National Park is known for its turquoise lakes, mountains, and wildlife.

5) Cappadocia, Turkey

Great Nature Spots: A lot of nature spots focus on daytime activities, but this one is something special. Go on a boat ride through a glowworm grotto that dates back over 30 million years, and see these beautiful insects glowing in the dark. It has to be seen to be believed.
