I don’t think any of us anticipated a year quite like 2020. It’s challenged us all on many levels and has left us unable to plan ahead or know what the future holds, but all we can do is stick together, stay strong, and remain positive that 2021 will be better.

We started our series “Positive News and Honestly Good Inspiration” this year, to provide good news and positivity during the uncertain times. (You can find our first article here, and second here.)

Inspiring Quotes of the Month:

“Time spent among trees is never time wasted.” —Anonymous
“Don’t wait. The time will never be just right.” – Napoleon Hill
“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” – Albert Einstein
“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” – Theodore Roosevelt
“I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.” – Jimmy Dean

Inspiring Company of the Month: Library of Things

sewing
This fantastic company is on a mission to encourage the world to borrow rather than buy. The website has all sorts of things from things for the home, projects, and adventures. From sewing machines to steam cleaners, bread makers to hedge trimmers – if you only need something once in a while, why buy? Borrow, and help save the planet.

Inspiring Article of the Month: Acts of Kindness

We found this post by Kindness UK which has collated a list of all sorts of kind acts you can perform for the environment, your community, or the natural world around you. Sometimes it’s easy to forget all the small random acts of kindness you can do to make a positive impact on the world. From putting up a nest box to doing a litter-pick, to simply smiling at a stranger.

Inspiring Person of the Month: Jodie Jackson

jodiejackson
Jodie Jackson is an incredibly inspiring woman with a Masters in Positive Psychology and is on a mission to spread positivity. She believes that changing your media diet to include solutions can transform your life, improve your mental health, and quite possibly change the world.

Not only is she sharing her wonderful advice with adults around the world, but she’s also spreading positivity through children’s books. Her debut children’s book “Little Ruffle and the World Beyond” tells the tale of a bird who’s scared of the world outside her nest until she discovers the beauty of the world beyond by going on an adventure. You can get more positive news and inspiration from Jodie on Instagram @LittleRuffle.

Inspiring Photo of the Month:

pygmy

We had to share this dose of cuteness. These tiny critters are pygmy possums. There was a worry that they had been wiped out by bushfires recently on Kangaroo Island in Australia (which burnt through their habitats), but luckily these little guys found unburned vegetation and survived.

Inspiring Video of the Month: Prince William | This decade calls for Earthshots to repair our planet

We discovered this inspiring video on TED YouTube channel where Prince William shows his passion for us all working together to save the planet. We love his determination, spirit and dedication to paving a way for change. He talks about climate change and how we can all work together and harness the spirit of human ingenuity and purpose to repair our planet.

Here’s to living in unity, cherishing nature, and making the world a better place.
