It’s time for the fifth edition of our blog series that’s quite simply bursting at the seams with positivity. If you missed the last one, you can read it here, but to sum it up, this blog is all about shining the spotlight on inspiring individuals, companies doing amazing things and all of the Honestly Good things happening in the world right now.
Inspiring Quotes of the Month:
“Once I decide to do something, I can’t have people telling me I can’t. If there’s a roadblock, I jump over it, walk around it, crawl under it.” – Kitty Kelley
“Trust your gut.” – Barbara Walters
“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.”- Anais Nim
“You have to have confidence in your ability, and then be tough enough to follow through.” – Rosalynn Carter
“We don’t make mistakes, we just have learnings.” – Anne Wilson Schaef.
52 Lives is a charity that aims to “change someone’s life every week of the year and spread kindness.”
In their own words, the charity’s philosophy is “based on the simple premise that people are good, and lots of good people working together can achieve amazing things.”
They believe that “kindness has the power to change people’s lives, strengthen communities and ultimately change the world – while improving our own well-being at the same time.”
Anyone can nominate someone that they think is in need of help, and each week, 52 Lives choose someone to help by sharing their story and requesting what kind of support they need. There is a community of almost 100,000 supporters who all do what they can to help support others.
Another wonderful thing is that every penny goes to the person that the charity helps each week. (This is made possible by their corporate partners and generous folks that cover their costs).
This week, the charity is helping 11-year-old Anya whose Mum was in a car accident when she was six and sadly lost her short term memory for over a year. Anya started having extreme anxiety and is also a carer for her autistic younger brother.
52 Lives is raising money to help Anya have equine therapy, which isn’t available on the NHS. They are also raising money to buy sensory gifts for her brother and kind messages. Find out more about this amazing charity here.
We spotted Pale Green Dot as they’re currently crowdfunding on Seedrs. The company is on a mission to fix the UK food system, and they are doing this by focussing on food waste.
They collect food waste from commercial kitchens and re-use it by turning it into bio-fertiliser and green energy and to grow next season’s produce. They operate a closed-loop system and they deliver fresh food to homes around the UK and commercial kitchens.
You can find their crowdfunding pitch here.
Max Woosey is 11 years old, and after his friend Rick sadly passed away, he has been devoted to raising money for the North Devon Hospice because they cared for his friend so well.
Max has been camping outside since 29th March 2020 – every single night, even in the coldest of temperatures. The reason he’s camping is because his friend Rick gave him his tent before he passed away, and made him promise to have an adventure.
So far, Max has raised over £534,500 and has spent over 450 nights outside. You can find his JustGiving page here.

We picked this account because firstly, it has super cute illustrations, and secondly, rather than a sole focus that ALL things in life are positive, it acknowledges challenges that people encounter (for example having anxiety, lacking motivation or feeling fearful) and provides colourful pick-me-ups and words of wisdom and support.
So if you need a boost and an explosion of colour – then Positively Present with its beautiful original illustrations by Dani DiPirro is the one for you.
